Now Playing: Making Me Go - PW
I'm moving the whole blog mess to HERE

But this stuff will stick around, you know, for the memories.

12 hours in the tin can, god there's got to be a better way....
Now Playing: Trunk Fulla Amps - Self
Nothing like a surprise 12 hour work day to kill your ideas of making music. That and the severe dent I put in my brain pan last night. The bleeding has stopped, and it is nothing more than a throbbing memory now.

Off to a 4 hour power-nap and maybe tonight I'll feel like making some noise.

or not.

In a bar in Toledo....
Now Playing: Silver Wings - Merle Haggard
I'm still working on my Wild & Lethal (the updated file is in the link in the other post). It's getting closer.

But it's a little bit of burn-out focusing on one song so much, so I took a little break. With a little inspiration from a friend, I did a quick version of a very sad country song. And then did one that's even sadder.

Lucille

He Stopped Loving Her Today

you know what Elton John says, sad songs say so much.

Just Like A Common Thief
Mood:  caffeinated
Now Playing: Wild & Lethal - Paul Westerberg
Ok...I have some sorta focus now. After ignoring stuff for weeks (months) I have my studio PC repaired, everything setup and ready to go.

So...the Men Without Ties message board wants to put together a compliation of Paul Westerberg songs done by members. I volunteered, and after hemming and hawing about what to do, decided on Wild & Lethal from the Come Feel Me Tremble soundtrack. (The f'n River Song)

I've laid down a basic scratch track to kind of feel out how I want it to sound. I'm getting close.

Here it is so far...

Wild & Lethal v1

I've decided to minimize anxiety over doing this to a very critical audience by only trying to please myself with this. And maybe one other person who's opinion on this particular song would be appreciated.

But of course, all opinions are welcome. Don't hurt me, I'm a senstive arteest.

Dog (who is neither Wild nor Lethal, but can fake it for a little while)

Won't Waste My Life On Hold
Mood:  not sure
Now Playing: 10,000 Years - Honeydogs
The work situation is on hold...supposedly working one more month before being cut loose.

So...I feel I am on hold for now. Twiddling my thumbs, trying to act naturally in spite of the impending crash of my life all around me. Ignorance is bliss.

What better to do when on hold then try and write a song? Ok, the lyric thing is still frightening for me...but the music seems to come out ok.

Here's my latest endevour...creatively entitled 'Untitled' for now.

My Song

Happy New Year. No really, I mean it.

Obvious paths: north* east* south* west*. You cannot move in that direction
Now Playing: Honeydogs - Your Blue Door
It's only been a week, but the job search thing is becoming depressing. Seems everything I look at requires 2-5 years of experience in a related field.

Well, I have 17 years of experience in a field related to nothing I would like to do for a living anymore. I work the resume as hard as I can, but as the saying goes, you can't polish a turd.

So escapism is in order now. Lucky for me I have an addiction to an online text-based roleplaying game. In the world of Dragon's Gate I spend my time running around the land of Aradath as Grad Hamfist, a Thugian fighter and knight of the lady Elindale. Grad does not need 2-5 years experience to make a living. He just needs to keep his Drathain Pike sharp and his steel Plate Armor repaired.

Now, before you assume I am a completely nerdly geek-boy........hmmm.....nevermind, you would be completely correct.

While you might spend your time with such unimportant tasks as Freecell and Bejeweled.....I will be charged with the quest of ridding the Temple Of Truth of Lesser Demons.

Oh...and I recorded another Paul Westerberg song. It's one of my favorites.

This Is Where The Line Is...
Mood:  not sure
Had a song to get outta my system. It's a Bob Mould tune, and its a good one (his version at least)

track removed because it sucks and I need the space, sorry

Time to forget about the job-seeking for a night and get some X-Mas lights up. Maybe shave off this beard. Can't go to interviews with the Unabomber look.

Blog Hi-Jack!
Mood:  down
Now Playing: The Minus 5 - Dear Employer
Ok, I'm hi-jacking my own Blog. Suddenly being creative isn't very important in my life.

Thursday, my employer announced a restructuring of operations. It boils down to after 17 years of service to the company, I will no longer be employed there after the end of the year.

great.

Now I begin the process of job hunting. It's a tough one. Even with my diploma in Computer Science, I have little experience in the field due to working in that factory for 17 years.

Things I need to find in a job: Decent pay, not necessarily matching my present wage, but close. Health Insurance, family needs to be covered.

Thing I would like to find in a job: Computer-related, its my trained field. An employer who's product or service is of personal interest to me, hard to qualify that, but I will know it when I see it.

So off to the job hunt. I'll keep this Blog updated with progress. And maybe I'll feel a bit creative in this new direction and make a little music on the way.

Is It Just Wasted Time?
Mood:  d'oh
Now Playing: Run's House - RunDMC
Dragged myself into the studio, but nothing brewing.

So I begin wasting time. Putting too much effort into stuff like this.
